The land was full of ritual prostitution. One man came to spoil the fun: Elijah, First Action Hero.
The play is set in the reign of King Ahab, a ruler of Ancient Israel who marries Jezebel, the daughter of an idol-worshipping priest. Ahab is a weak man who likes to keep everyone happy, even if it means compromising his own principles in the process.
Queen Jezebel wears the trousers in this relationship, but things go a little too far when she scorns the God of the Hebrews and sets up idols to Baal and other pagan gods. The action begins when Jezebel orders the death of all prophets and a mysterious figure arrives to turn things around.
The mystery man has long hair, a husky voice and is shoddily dressed, but his gleaming eyes and mystic aura tell you that this is not your usual rebel fighter. Nobody believes him when he threatens to bring a famine if the King doesn’t cease all Baal-worship. Needless to say, the rain stops, starvation begins and the ultimate battle is on.
Elijah continues to delight, entertain and educate audiences wherever it plays.
